Hours: Tours run from 1pm - 2pm

Experience a seasonal one-hour guided tour of the lavender fields from late November to mid-February. The story of our lavender farm is shared as you walk amongst 5,000 plus lavender plants. The opportunity to purchase lavender products is available, as is the chance to enjoy our famous Lavender Lemonade. At the end of the tour, you are free to wander through the lavender fields and on a short track to a picnic area amongst the forest. Facilities include an outdoor composting toilet. The income from our farm tours goes directly back into our conservation and regeneration programme.

Price per person: Adult $25.00, Child $5.00, and Senior $20.00.

Booking is essential, no walk-ins are accepted.

Please take a few minutes to read through and understand our booking conditions. 1.0 Cancellation by Guest(s) • For cancellations made more than 7 days in advance a refund (less credit card fees) is available. • For cancellations made within 7 days of arrival, a refund is not available. If you have special circumstances that would warrant compassionate consideration, please contact us via email before cancelling your booking so that we may discuss postponement or credit options with you. 2.0 Cancellation by Akaroa Lavender In the unlikely event that an availability or pricing error occurs at the time of booking, or that a property becomes unavailable (for example in the event of damage by natural disaster or extreme weather, or unexpected unavailability of your guide, then Akaroa Lavender will undertake to provide alternatives/arrangements that are agreeable to the guest(s) and/or will provide a full refund of any amounts paid to Akaroa Lavender (including credit card fees). Neither Akaroa Lavender nor the property owner will have any further liability in connection with the unavailability of the property. 3.0 Risk We are committed to delivering a safe and enjoyable experience. We take all care to ensure your safety, however, there are inherent risks in the nature of our activity. To ensure your safety guests must follow the instructions of our team at all times, by physically capable of undertaking the activity, and not be under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Risks may include: • All fences should be treated as electric. These fences are designed to keep calves out of certain areas by pulsing electric current through the fence. Ensure you do not touch! • You may encounter a number of different traps. These are designed to humanely catch rats, cats, possums, stoats, weasels and hedgehogs. These are all introduced pests and hunt and kills birds, both adults and chicks, in trees and on the ground. Please do not touch. These traps are checked daily. • The only plant to be aware of is stinging nettle/ongaonga. This plant is a New Zealand native, along with two introduced species. Look for very visible white needles on a light green leaf. The plant is commonly found on the edge of tracks. • At any time of the year introduced wasps (German and Common) maybe an issue. They are commonly seen in late Summer, early Autumn searching for food. They may nest alongside the walking tracks and become aggressive if the nest is approached. • When exploring the lavender fields, you will encounter both native and introduced bees and bumble bees. These are the good guys helping pollinate a wide range of plants. Native bees rarely sting. Common honeybees do sting. Bumble bees rarely sting. • Uneven ground. You may encounter rabbit holes or uneven ground caused by rabbits digging or track changes. These may cause you to fall and injure yourself. Watch your feet when walking in the bush or lavender fields. • Calves. You may encounter calves in some of the paddocks you cross during your walks. These are between 1-2 years old. They are not a hazard but may approach you because they are curious. Try not to startle the calves. 4.0 Prices & Payments All prices displayed on this website are in New Zealand Dollars and may be changed at any time without notice. Akaroa Lavender is a New Zealand-owned company. Booking and payment for the accommodation must be made by a valid credit or debit card on, using Visa or MasterCard. For your security, Akaroa Lavender prefers that payments be processed through the booking platform Book It, although card details may be processed over the phone, and bank transfers or international fund transfers may be accepted by request. 5.0 Guest Rules & Responsibilities Please Contact Us if you have any questions in regard to this policy or you need to update your booking details. No smoking, no illegal substances, no pets. Please arrive 5 minutes before the tour start time.
